Application Guidelines
Our application process is designed to be straightforward and accessible. Applications should be aligned with our missions.
All applicants who are awarded a grant from SMF are required to send ½ to 1 page report before June 30 of the subsequent year
(and every year thereafter in which your project is still active) describing the progress and/or any results and achievements of their endeavors.
The granted applicants consent that the SMF publish the contents of their projects on the SMF website.
(If you do not wish to do so, please let us know if and why you would prefer that this information remain confidential.)
Any incomplete applications would not be reviewed.

Application Requirements
- Completed SMF Grant Application Form
- Personal statement or project proposal (not more than two pages)
- Letters of recommendation
- Academic transcripts (for Soudavar Scholarship applications only)
- Financial need documentation (if applicable)
- Curriculum Vitae with a list of Publications or other achievements aligned with the applicant’s project.

Step 3: Final review by selection committee
Step 4: Notification of decision by the end of September
